Yes we did know. When enquiring about Dawn at John's funeral, my husband was told by her son that his mother had died at 10am that morning.

The Wilks family are also connected to ours in that my husbands sister married into that family.

Thank you both for your help, I was wondering if John had another name. Now maybe we can now link both families together. May did you know Dawn L A Malsom (Nee Wilks) b 8 July 1934 died on her birthday 8 July 2014.

The Nathaniel described by May was indeed a Forest Malson/Malsom. I have the descent to him from John Malson of Moys Hill farm Westbury on Severn,who died in 1547. Anyone interested can send me their email address via private message and I will forward details. Be warned that details of the life of Nathaniel's wife Eliza Sophia Green can be distressing, but probably have a bearing on why Nathaniel moved to HEF,and the family dissociated themselves from the Forest.

You will find the family on the 1911 census if you look for Henry John Malsom which was his full name.

His son John Henry (b 1932) always maintained that they were not related to the Forest Malsoms but I haven’t looked into this enough to express an opinion. His father had 8 siblings and any of them could have come to the Forest to live.

We knew John and Rita, George and Dawn, and I did an outline family tree for John when he asked me to find out about his father, just a couple of weeks ago, just before he died.

I'm trying to link John Malsom b 1905 Ross Herefordshire d 1964 Gloucestershire who married 1929 Ross, Agnes Ellen Cotterell B 1907 Woolhope Herefordshire, to the Malsom's families in the Forest of Dean. I have looked for him on the 1911 census, to find his parents, & on this site, both with no luck. Just wondering if anyone has John in their tree or has come across him.
