Miscarriage registration (reply)

No unfortunately I don't know how many weeks she was. I just assume that she must have been pregnant and suffered a miscarriage of some description or had recently had a baby because of the reason for her death.

Miscarriage registration (reply)

Hi Joanne

A miscarriage, (generally classed as such if prior to 24 weeks these days, not sure about 1912), would not have had to have been registered as such...
With miscarriage the child dies in the womb so isn't actually born and then died so no birth or death registration.
However, found this bit of info about Stillbirths (which mentions abortive births, so maybe it would be classed here?). Do you have any idea how many weeks she was?
Hope it helps.

Miscarriage registration

My 2XG Grandmother Alice Ann Kelly (formerly Parker) died 20 Dec 1912 from Puerperal Eclampsia accumulated by shock as a result of an accidental fall out of bed

Can anyone tell me that around the year 1912 if a woman had a miscarriage how far gone would the pregnancy have been before a birth/death of the baby had to be registered?
