COOPEY Henry born Churcham c1883 (reply)

Hi Pauline,
welcome to this great website and forum.
Please read this link, I think you should email Celtie direct and as soon as possible.
http://www.forest-of-dean.net/?Help_FAQ_General_FAQ#faq6

As the link explains, by clicking the blue username of for example Celtie, you can see how often and when they've been on the forum, in this case its been just over a year. However you are lucky that their username is still active, but it won't be for long, so I recommend you email them direct asap. This will go straight to their email inbox, so they're more likely to see it as doesn't rely on them checking against this old forum thread (let's hope they're still using the same email account!).
I do hope this helps and you make contact.
In the meantime please repost on the forum, and also revisit all this great website(you can search the forum as it seems you have done, and the old photos, old documents etc etc and of course the huge database of Parish Records).

Good luck, Jeff.

Henry Coopey b 1882 (reply)

Hi Chris,

Hope I have this right, and we share the same ancestors, my ancestor Mary Kilty (sister of my great grandfather Robert Kilty) married Charles Coopey 24th July 1862 Westbury on Severn,

Mary died 19th June 1926. Below is my 1881 census for the family, I also have all of the Kilty ancestry for Scotland, although they were originally from Ireland, I would be very happy to pass the Kilty family tree onto yourself if you wish.
Kind Regards
Celtie

Hi Angie

A long shot here, and no idea if this will get to you, but here goes, and always worth a try when it's ancestry. I an a direct decedent of Mary Kilty married to Charles Coopey 24th July 1862 Westbury on Severn. I have all of the Kilty family tree and have been posting on this site as of today and getting a lot of help with the Coopey family in just a short while.

Kind Regards

COOPEY Henry born Churcham c1883

COOPEY Henry born Churcham c1883 died 1942.
I am trying to establish the parents of Henry Coopey. I have census from 1841 to 1901 and Henry's name only shows up on the census for 1891, aged 10, being the son of Joseph and Isabella Coopey (nee Turner), their address being The Docks in Ross, South Herefordshire. On the 1881 Census Joseph and Isabella resided in Cottage, Churcham. My dilemma is proving that Joseph and Isabella are my grandfather Henry's parents as there are so many Coopey's living in the same area and it may be that Joseph Coopey's father is also named Joseph a name that is handed down through the generations. I do know that Henry Coopey married Winifred Mary Baldwin on 7th June 1913 and their Marriage Certificate states Henry's father Joseph as deceased with a profession as a Pig Dealer. Is there anyone who can verify that Joseph and Isabella were the parents of Henry Coopey?
Angie
