Thanks for all your help I have e-mailed a few people to see if I can find out the buriel info.

I am also going to buy a copy of Gilberts death cert when I can afford it!!

Hopefully I will get my grandfather to see his fathers grave for the first time in 71 years =) ,

I will post up what happens!!

you probably need to invest Â£10 now to get a copy of the Death cert, which will give you more insight into the circumstances/cause of death - with a bit of luck.

My grandad was braught up by his grandparents, Alfred John Chivers and Alice Chivers (nee Philips)
Im fairly sure that Gilbert moved to Bristol and actually died in Blandford in Dorset. He died when my grandad was 11 and so he knows nothing realy of what happend.
I think he may have died in a moterbike crash but this may be compleatly wrong.

I would love to find out where he is buried for my grandads sake, its so hard especially with the name Smith!!

Gilbert SMITH and Florence Winifred CHIVERS

These two people are my great grandparents. I know that they were both born in Westbury on severn and married in 1922, Florence Winifred died in childbirth age 21 in 1926 and I know that Gilbert died in 1937 age 39 , however I dont know where or why he died. Their only child (my grandad) is getting older now and he is still unaware of what happend to his father and I want to find out but I dont know where to start. I cant afford to pay to find out so does anyone know of anyway I can find out this information for free?
