The young Joseph Virgo appears to have been sent to live with his grandparents Joseph and Harriet Virgo of Brains Green (1901 census) after the unexpected accidental death of his father. His two brothers remained with their mother, until they were called on to serve in the 1st World War. One brother James William, being seriously injured and discharged on medical grounds. The other brother, Albert, was killed aged 19 years.

I have not been able to find any information at all on Joseph (1897) but have been told that he did live in Glocs until his death in the 1960's.
