To put all the extra information into the burials template provided for the Parish Records database we had to condense the information and so we used the memorandum column for the extras.

Typically, and there are a few exceptions among the 6,000 records of burials,

The "Tonypandy" you mention will have come from the "Place of death" or "From what Parish removed" columns which serves to tell us where the "body" was brought from (if not Coleford Town) to be buried in Coleford Town cemetery.

Letters and Figures will be a combination of the grave location number and which section of the cemetery it is in, and will also state whether it is in Consecrated or unconsecrated ground - these snippets of information were all in separate columns.

Entries could have as many as 5 different columns condensed into memorandum.

Thanks for that.It fits in with the info I have that she was living in 1911 as wife to William Mitchell in Penygraig near Tonypandy.Her son Percy Frowen born before she married Benjamin Evans died in 1918 in France a short time after he arrived at the front.Fanny Mitchell is named as his mother.Not sure if it is unusual that she should be buried back in Coleford after many years away but my grt grandfather Henry Frowen was buried back home after he died in Coventry. This may have been covered before but I'm wondering if there are standard questions which are covered in the memoranda section of the transcript.In a particular burial transcript I have 1 Ton-y-pandy. 2 Not stated. 3 QQ15.4 Consecrated. 5 Tonypandy. Not aware of a standard as such - memoranda are typically extra notes added to the parish register

Its not unusual to find a grave location reference or in this case the usual residence of the person, place of death,....
