Family trees and Parish Records (reply)

Thanks for the clarification. Although the note will be solely on "my" tree, I know that there is a little paranoia about ancestry. I thought twice about actually putting my tree information on there for some time.

Family trees and Parish Records (reply)

I have just started to put my wife's tree on ancestry.co.uk. It is possible to add notes and sources to corroborate various facts, e.g. baptisms, marriages and burials. What is the position on my using the text from the Parish Records section of this site in these on-line trees? I have read the terms and conditions but still don't feel confident on what they mean. Can I transcribe, as in cut and paste, the text and add a "credit" for forest-of-dean.net? Or is it the case that I cannot use the text? So far I have only done one cut and paste and thought that I would seek confirmation before I put any more records on.

as a private researcher, "we" are happy if you use the information, but we ask that you always provide an acknowledgement of where you have "lifted" it from.
