Lodge Keepers (General)

I am currently researching the Witts side of my family and have found that Thomas Witts b c1786 was a keeper at the Speech House in 1841 and Robert b c1807 and William b c1811 were keepers at Danby Lodge in 1841 and 1851. I now want to get details of there duties,operations,conditions, pay etc! Can anyone help?

Many thanks for this information slowhands. - very useful! I will send off for re-issue details of 18 and then order both 18 and 19.! I wasn't aware of this source of detail but have lots of interest and after reviewing the index will
probably order further issues!
