I have some interest in the Baldwin family, having 426 Baldwin's in my Family Tree. I have always regarded James Baldwin 1720 as a bit of a mystery, he either died before 1744 or there were two James Baldwin & Sarah's producing children in Ruardean.

I note you have a James Baldwin 1720. I note there is a baptism 29 May 1720 at Ruardean, parents James Baldwin & Sarah. This fits nicely with a marriage between James Baldwin & Sarah Barnard 27 Dec 1719. There is however another James Baldwin baptised to James Baldwin & Sarah on 18 Mar 1743/44, who I reckon married Jane Jones 22 May 1768 Hope Mansell. The IGI notes a marriage between James Baldwin & Sarah Robbins as shown by M P Griffiths as being the parents of Charles Baldwin 1738, could they be the parents of James Baldwin 1743/44. Family research is so complicated !!

My real interest here is that Thomas Baldwin 1746, son of James Baldwin & Betty Brain (married 22 May 1743 Newland) had among their 9 children a son Moses who married my 5 times Great Aunt Lucy Marfell, so I would be interested in knowing the parents of the James Baldwin who married Betty Brain.
