My ancestors (Thorne) were tanners working in Newnham from 1840 to 1890, possibly at the Underhill tannery. I would be interested to hear of any connections that others might have.

So whats wrong? Why the public message? I saw no box to tick saying that I had read, understood & followed any guidelines. How is my query a difficulty?

If it is your Thorne family you would like more information about, then please tell us the names of the people in your Thorne family that you know of and what further details you would like to know.

I am just reading some old family documents and it seems that perhaps my great granfather owned the tannery his name was M Roberts and it would maybe seem that Underhill House is the site of the tannery.
