MPGriffiths -thanks for posting this....interesting to know Amy met Joseph in Newport -having had a child out of wedlock stigmatized a woman, but I guess being so far (in those days) form Clearwell she was able to make a new life for herself. I'm curious to know if my grandmother was recognized as Amy's daughter while she was growing up. It seems Andrew Price knew of my grandmother in relationship to his grandmother (Amy) and there was an oral history passed down.
