More recent inquest information? (reply)

Hello
I recently obtained a copy of the inquest papers relating to my grandfathers death (Road Traffic Accidnet in 1951 in Birmingham)from the local coroner in B'ham for 10 pounds. It included all the police reports tc tc. You may be able to do the same with the local Forest coroner covering the area where your relations accident occurred.
Cheers, Celia

Pit Disaster Records (reply)

I found the Mining Resource site earlier today by chance, Noah's name is there. According to these records there were no other fatal accidents at the Princess Royal in 1942, I was thinking that but for standing a few feet away from the bell which killed him, he might have lived long enough for me to know him.

Pit Disaster Records (reply)

I was looking into the deaths of some relatives (killed in a pit disaster in South Yorkshire, not the branch connected with the Forest of Dean) and found that the Durham Mining Museum has records of all pit disasters all over England. Wales and Scotland. I found it by "Googling" the name the pit, the date of the disaster and the names of the three people I was looking for. However, the list only had two of the three people named despite all three having definitly died in the same disaster. nevertheless it was a good source of information.
