Dear Ellie, How exciting to see you answer in the forum! Thankyou so much for responding. I would love to somehow exchan e photos, information, etc. if possible about the family. I have only recently begun to look at this line of my family, and I need to acquaint myself with the information. My mother did the genealogy for 35 years and now I have all the books. I am sll t lowly reading through gll the her books.a
I have great photo of George and Rhoda woould you like a copy? I can send it via the internet. I would love to email with you more on the family. Do you live in the stateha? I also have some typed copies of letters from and to people in England...Lottie is one I believe... would you like copies of thoses also? It might take a little time as none of this information is on a computer. My mother never did use a computer so all her work was done the old fashioned way.

Slowhands! THANK-YOU!.. I didnt expect such a quick response! My mother did our genealogy for approx. 35 years, so she had compiled alot. But the Gilmore side she left pretty much undone as it was a family acquired by marriage.. she worked more on her side of the family.
Are the records you send me the equivalent of English population census? They are difinitely my family.
I have some photos of my people ... would you be interested in what ever I could find and manage to email? I have a great photo of George and Rhoda in Seymour Iowa. Please let me know.... I so appreciate your answer, and its really satisfying to find a connection to England.

Hi Emerald Emma,
I am a descendent from the THOMAS family and I have compiled a lot of info on the THOMAS'S. In fact, earlier this year I travelled to Seymour IA and took pictures of the headstones in the cemetery, I have a photo of George T. and Rhoda H. (THOMAS)JONES'S headstone if you are interested.I also have info on Ethel that was compiled by a cousin still living in Iowa. There is also a cousin still living in Edge End.

Hello, I an new to this... I am looking for how to find birth and marriage records for my grandmothers family... she was born in 1886 somewhere in Edge End nr. Coleford, Gloucestershire.
Her name was Ethel Emma Jones, born 1886
Father: George Jones, Mother: Rhoda Hannah Thomas
The family emmigrated to the US in 1889 on the SS Gallia, Cunard Lines. I would like to find a photo of birth records for Ethel, and marriage records for George and Rhoda. I would like to find a ships manifest also, and have not been able to locate one yet on my side of the pond. I have other family names available if needed.
I would appreciate any help and or instruction on how to proceed with research in England, as I havent done any before, and dont know all the protocol ...
