James BISHOP circa 1845 Staffordshire & Lydney

Hi,
I am researching James Bishop and family, his wife Margret (Coles/cole) was from USK, Monmouthshire. Where would I find records? There seems to be an overlap in records but I have hit a brick wall. Any information would be gratefully received.
