James and Ann Jones

These photos were in a locket given to me by my mother, I know the people were
close family and are possibly my great grandparents listed below.
Does anyone recognise them to confirm this?

My great grandfather James JONES born1840 at Lydbrook
(father James, mother Margaret WILLIAMS)
He lived in Cammomile Green until his death in 1907

and

Ann JONES born West Dean 1848 (mother Martha ABRAHALL, father Thomas JONES)
She died aged 60 at Cammomile Green

They married at the independent Chapel Monmouth in 1864

This is a member of the Trigg family wearing his football kit. He was in a team in
Forest of Dean area. Would be nice to know who he is and what team he played for.

Looks more like a County kit , esp. the cap, Gloucestershire Rugby or Football team perhaps ? ( the ball is a give away too !!!)

Thanks slowhands, following your reply
I have been in touch with Gloucester Rugby Heritage and have received a reply from Richard Williams asking me to forward the photograph on to him and he will do his best to identify it.

Received a reply from Richard Williams, he thinks that I can discount a rugby connection as their researcher is positive that it's not a rugby ball he's holding and that it's not a Gloucestershire rugby cap. He says "I suspect it's a cap from one of the Forest football clubs. In a quick search of the Times archive I could find no record of a Trigg playing for Gloucester at any sport pre-1914.incidentally,no Trigg has ever played for Gloucester although a Trigg-Herbert played briefly in the twenties."
Is there anybody out there heard of the Trigg-Herberts?
