Beech Grove, Bishopswood - Where is it? (reply)

Thankyou. Our Grandfather's brother who visited the house as a boy some years after World War 1, in his 1982 memoirs, described it as "having a gothic door arch and a garden stretching down to the river". I drove there today and the un-named house opposite the Ruardean road appears to fit that description. My sincere thanks.

Beech Grove, Bishopswood - Where is it? (reply)

Beech Grove, Bishopswood is on the road from the bottom of Lydbrook about 1 mile in the direction of Ross on Wye. I believe there is a Beech Grove House also a Beech Grove Cottage but it is many years since I worked in that area. I also have a feeling that Beech Grove House was a residential home for the elderly but that would have been in the 80's.

Great-Grandfather George Dance died at Bishopswood in 1924. The burial record gives Beech Grove as his residence.
Does anyone know where that was?

Descendants of George Dance 1843 Newland

George Dance was born at Berry Hill in 1843. Baptised at parent's (Edward & Mary Ann) home in Newland. George was a tin-plate roller who worked in that industry at Redbrook, Lydbrook and South Wales.
He died at Beech Grove, Bishopswood in 1924. Is anyone else researching this family?
