It is difficult to "age" him - my feeling with the loss of hair would be a man in his Fifties, which I think would put him in Pittsburgh area (?) rather than in the Forest. Ill assume there is no photographer's plate or note on the rear of the frame/portrait.

Interesting that Allegheny took a lot of families from Wales and England, including the Forest, for their labour/ Iron/ Steel / Mining / Timber experiences - Mountjoy, Kear, Brain, Virgo Cinderey Gwilliam etc from the FoD.
