This is a re post as I have recently changed my e mail address.
I am researching any Dobbs, Townsend, Carter, James, Brain, Hempstalk and Lear ancestors from Lydbrook, Coleford, Whitecroft,Bream and Ross on Why areas, many were coalminers but my Great Grand father was the Lydbrook Postman around 1900 +

I have just received some information from a daughter in law
of my George and Bella Dobbs. If anyone recognizes any of the names of the
descendents listed below please contact me.. :-)

George (Topper) Dobbs married Bella Hempstalk originally of Staffordshire?
(Married Monmouth Jun 1923 11a 61) Bella moved to a Whitecroft to work as a
bar maid in and Inn and met George there..

They had the following offspring. (Only rough dates supplied.)

William, died young
Eva, died at 89 years
Verdun died at 80
Sally, Alive 87 = Abt 1918
Ruby Alive 86 = Abt 1919
Enid, Alive 85.=Abt 1920
Patricia Died young
Joseph Alive 84 =Abt 1921
George, Alive 83 = Abt 1922
Desmond Alive 80 =Abt1925
Hilary Alive late 70's
Derek Died in an Accident
Tony Alive age?

(George's Parents were Joseph Dobbs and Sarah)

Morven (Have not found this person in any census before)

Eva Dobbs married a Harold James and had 2 sons
Verdun Dobbs married a Frank Ford and had 7 children
Sally Dobbs married a Les Dixey and had 7 children
Ruby Dobbs married a Jack Morris and had 3 children
Enid Dobbs married ??????????? and had 3children
Joseph Dobbs married an Eveline and had 1 daughter (Morse or Mansell)
George Dobbs married a Joyce. no children
Desmond Dobbs married a Ruby and had 4 children
Hilary Dobbs married a Frank Mc Cabe and had 2 children
Derek Dobbs married Pam and had 2 children (Died in an accident)
Tony Dobbs married a Mavis and had 2 children
