I cannot find any Birth record or Baptism PR for Joseph Whittington born abt 1831, but this looks like him with his parents;

However I'm unsure as to any connections between these Whittingtons of Lydbrook area, and Dick Whittington's own family in Pauntley nr Newent 300 years earlier.

And here's another thread about THE Dick Whittington which is hopefully relevant. The last post reminds me of my own childhood confusion regarding a Mayor Whittington my dad knew, and the pantomime character all us kids knew, this was long before I learnt that Dick was a real chap AND a Glostershire lad to boot !
