connections (General)

so I guess it would be useful to attempt to draw out a chart (s) to show the various connections esp where the FLETCHER and DAVIS, and MASON lines mingle etc.

from experience helping trace gypsy roots has been frustrated by enumerators who either failed or simply missed some families living in tents in the Forest - this seems especially true in the early censuses.

often searching by trade such as Tin plate worker, basket maker, chair maker, tinker etc can uncover related groups of travelling folk. There are groups who appear to settle in the area - based on where they are on Census day and then places of birth for the off spring. and then others who roam far and wide, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Somerset, Herefordshire etc.

all we try to do here is assist where we can with evidence, and offer experience and possible directions to explore, perhaps " based on what we find, it feels like". Sometimes the tree/branches are clear, and then they can be confusing !

we are human, we make mistakes, but on the whole the results speak for themselves
