Sarah BURGESS / Burgham - 29 April 1821 - Newland (General)

Sarah Hawkins' grave is right alongside that of Thomas Burgham, ironfounder, on the north side of Newland church. She was buried in 1886, three years after Thomas, and was 65 years old according to the inscription. This gives a birth date of 1821, and therefore I have always assumed that she was his daughter

I am sending photos of both graves to FOD.

One interesting thing is that they are both the same shape.

We need to rethink who was the other Sarah.
