HAINE m. PREEST 1919 Lydney (General)

Hello, I have just discovered this wonderful forum. I have been investigating my family tree, but there are several, headscratching gaps.

Most of the mystery surrounds my great-grandfather, Albert HAINE (born abt 1868). On 29th Jan, 1919, he married Georgina PREEST at the Baptist Chapel in Lydney. Albert was 52 and Georgina was 25. By my calcuations, she was already several months pregnant with my grandmother at the time of the wedding.

Albert's father is listed on the marriage cetificate as Fred HAINE (deceased). Fred's occupation was farmer, and Albert's was Farm Bailiff. Georgina's father was Henry Thomas PREEST, a Coal Hewer. Both Georgina (occ. General Servant) and Albert had the same address listed on the wedding certificate: Close Turf, St Briavels. I'm guessing she was in service there? And that's where they met?

However, I can find no birth records for Albert HAINE, nor for Fred HAINE. Also, I cannot find any census records at all for Albert HAINE, Fred HAINE nor Georgina PREEST. Does anyone have any information that could help me?

With thanks

Donna
