Thank you for your most thorough and speedy reply.
I made an error on my original entry. The grave stone markers for David John and Eliza (Preddy) Stockam list 1866 as David's birth year but the only English records I could find and that you have so kindly confirmed list it as 1863. Likewise Eliza's birth year is listed on the stone as 1870, but the only English records I could find with John as the father were listed as 1868 in West Dean, Gloucestershire, but also lists town of Worral Hill and Monmouthshire. I believe the parish was Holy Jesus. Needless to say I am confused....Can you make any sense of this? Would it have anything to do with the family rumors of them eloping? Thanks
