The churchyard at St. Mary Magdalene, Hewelsfield is just a small rural burial ground, probably about one hundred grave memorials, or thereabouts. Some are relatively modern since part of the cemetery is being re-used. There is no military section.
I believe the M.I.s which slowhands quoted from were recorded in 1988 so it is possible the stone no longer exists or is now so dilapidated or overgrown as to be unreadable.
As there is no burial recorded in the parish records on this site it is possible the M.I. recorded could be just a commemoration and Lt.-Col. Moule is buried elsewhere.
