You say "Ann Shaw's parents were James Shaw (c. 1761-1819) and Christian nee Bevan born c. 1773. Christian's parents were Thomas Bevan and Christian Hawkins, both born c. 1731 Awre. The parents of Christian Hawkins were William Hawkins born c. 1742 and Elizabeth, maiden name unknown."

I think its pretty unlikely that the father of Christian Hawkins, born c. 1731 was a man born in 1742 !!!

I've identified Christian's father as William Hawkins born circa 1713 at Huntley, Gloucestershire, the son of John and Elizabeth Hawkins. This William had familial connections with Awre.

William's brother John Hawkins born about 1710 at Huntley fathered children with a woman called Sarah at Awre and William and John's sister Elizabeth married Awre-resident Thomas Virgo in 1729 at Huntley and after being widowed married Benjamin Ricketts in 1745 at Awre.
