Forest of Dean Electoral Rolls (General)

by slowhands @, proud of his ancient Dean Forest roots, Tuesday, October 29, 2013, 07:21 (4038 days ago) @ downunder

Hi

Please excuse a cheeky Aussie asking another question in the one day - but could anyone tell me where the electoral registers for the Forest of Dean 1920-1960 are stored? They don't seem to be at the Gloucestershire Archives or maybe I'm reading the catalogue incorrectly (another distinct possibility)

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks again :)

They should be in the Glos Archives

"Gloucestershire Archives holds electoral rolls for the Gloucestershire Constituencies 1832-1915 (with some gaps)

Between 1918 and 1974 Cheltenham electoral rolls are held at Cheltenham Local Studies
Library. Cheltenham registers 1975 onwards are held at Gloucestershire Archives
From 1974 onwards Kingswood, North Avon and South Gloucestershire registers are
held by the South Gloucestershire Electoral Services ( tel:01454 863030
email:Electoral.Services@southglos.gov.uk).

For all other districts Gloucestershire Archives hold registers from 1918 onwards.

We should hold registers for the years up to last year, but this is not always the case for all districts. If you are interested in a register after 2006
