Found while browsing the Welsh Newspapers site;

From the Cardiff Times, 16 April 1910

"DEAN FOREST MINING ENGINEER.
Mr Thomas Smith, of Ruspidge, Cinderford, retired mining engineer, who has been in bad health for some time, died at his residence on Monday. He was over 70 years of age, and leaves a widow and several sons. Mr Smith had been associated with many mining enterprises in the Forest of Dean, including Edge Mills, Wigpool, Buckshaft, Perseverance and Shakemantle iron mines, and with Foxes Bridge and Lightmoor Collieries."
