thanks for the update, an interesting story by the looks of it, Reading was a fair way to cycle in those days, do you know why he took this journey ?

Ref Nora, looks like she was born abt 10 miles downstream of Reading at Henley on Thames, from FreeBMD;

Then again, I see Henley Registration District includes Caversham, I was there last month, it's just north of Reading town centre/railway station and right on the Thames.

Similarly Henley District includes Checkendon, which is northwest of Caversham & Reading, and in the general direction of Newnham etc.

I cannot find Nora, or her parents, on the 1901 Census yet, anyone else please ?.
(Thought I'd found Nora, conveniently working in service in Cheltenham, but she is a different Nora Mary Milsom born Addlestone, Surrey !)
Similarly cannot find youngest daugher Kathleen.

FreeBMD shows her middle name is Essex, not "Victor" as per Ancestry 1911 Transcription !
Kathleen Essex Millsome didn't marry, she died in Reading area in 1981.
