Hi David,
hope you had a good trip to Wales.
Sorry for advertising the rowdy behaviour of the Malsons, thanks for not taking it too personally, they endured very different times of course, especially if literally on the breadline. Sadly, for the majority of us, the only mentions our kin got in the local papers were Court cases etc, to my surprise and my mother's horror even my highly respected and "angelic" family-man grandfather was a bit of a yob in his youth ! My own connection with the Ruardean Hill area is thro' my brother-in-law, a Coleman/Roberts. I get the impression from his stories, and then my researches for him, that just as the Forest seemed somewhat "wild" to outsiders, similarly "Ruddn'ill" is a little "wilder" to the surrounding Forest area, maybe it's all that fresh air up there ;-)

Apologies for thinking you had BNA access, it was your opening post that made me think that.
I am happy, of course, to download and email you the items I've mentioned, altho you may well need to remind me !. In the meantime, the BNA site is actually available to you to use for free all this weekend if you want to, see the FindMyPast offer I've just posted about. If you search "MALSOM Drybrook" etc, using the area filters to ensure fastest hits, then you should be able to find them all.

atb Jeff
