Gloucester County Court records 1852 (General)
Does anyone know where the records for Gloucester County Court held at Newnham might be kept? We know that Arthur James Hayes was up for insolvent debt twice in 1852 (thanks to the London Gazette) and he seems to have failed to appear each time as he was jailed twice for contempt of court. The Gazette states that he was to appear before the court again on the 10th Dec. 1852, but we cannot find any record of what happened next! I'd love to know whether or not the debt was paid off and if so by whom. The only way I can think of that I might be able to find out is through the court records... all other suggestions gratefully received!
Regards,
Sian.
