WEAVER Frederick H (General)

From the Maitland Mercury & Hunter River General Advertiser, Thursday 16 January 1883: Family Notices - Frederick H. WEAVER drowned in the Hunter River at West Maitland (New South Wales) on Sunday 14th January 1883, aged 35 years, native of St Bravels (sic), Gloucestershire, England.

I have edited this newspaper notice slightly. Checking the FOD records, I can't find a Frederick H. WEAVER being baptised at St Briavels, although this of course means nothing, as some people didn't bother to have their children baptised.

The only potential fit might be Frederick H. WEAVER son of Joshua & Alice WEAVER who appears in the 1861 Census at RG 9/ 3979, folio 11, page 15, schedule 93. However, this Frederick H. WEAVER, was, according to the 1861 Census, born in 1859. Of course the newspaper notice might have stated an incorrect age.

Rosanna WEAVER, sister to the above Frederick H. WEAVER, married Colin HULIN. Members of the HULIN family were living in the Maitland, Hunter Valley area at this time - so perhaps there is a connexion here. After 1871 Frederick H. WEAVER and other male members of his family no longer appear in any Census - well none that I can find.
