WEAVER Frederick H (General)

Hello Mike,

Thanks for all the additional information.

I had spotted the marriage in Bristol, but I was not sure it was the same couple. There was a Mary THOMAS with the WEAVER family in the 1861 Census, but she was listed as a servant and from Gloucester - so I don't know if she is related. She might be, because by that time Alice WEAVER was deceased, and Joshua was bring up quite a large young family. At that time he had employed a governess, I guess because so many children were under the age of 10.

This morning I checked the NSW BMD Index from 1788 - 1907 and found the death entry of Frederick WEAVER as follows:

9059/1883 WEAVER FREDERICK H AGE 24 YEARS DIED WEST MAITLAND WEST MAITLAND (Registration District).

So it seems that I have the right person, it's just that the newspaper incorrectly reported his age as 35 years old in stead of 24 years old. There is a lesson here!

Cheers,

Don Cameron
