Romany Gipsy HARRIS' from Forest of Dean (General)

Hi :o) Hoping someone can help me I am looking for information regarding John HARRIS born abt.1808 in Flaxley, Forest of Dean. He married Elizabeth ? born abt.1811 in Newland, Forest of Dean. They then moved to Lower Gornal, Staffs where all their children were born. I was told he was from the famous HARRIS Romanys but not sure what they are famous for.
