Is Sarah PRITCHARD the same person as Tamar PRITCHARD? (General)
My 3rd great grandmother is Tamar PRITCHARD 1811–1888
BIRTH ABT 1811 • Aylburton, Gloucestershire, England
MARRIAGE 1836 to James CHARLES • Lydney, Gloucestershire, England
DEATH JANUARY 1888 • Chepstow, Monmouthshire
Could she be the same person as Sarah PRITCHARD Born 08 Feb 1807 in Linton By Ross,Hereford,England?
I can't find any birth/baptism records for Tamar so I don't know who her parents are. Sarah's brother John James who moved to New Zealand made reference to his sister "Tamar" as next of kin in a military record referenced in 2006 by his granddaughter Janice Wrigg (now deceased) on her webpage. I made an inquiry to the national archives and they did not find any such record.
Tamar's son James Charles died due to a mine related illness in 1868. His widow, Louisa Amelia Williams who was born in 1838 in Ruardean, Gloucestershire, England, and her two daughters moved to Salt Lake City, Utah USA after James died. One of those daughters (Amelia Charles) is my great grandmother.
Any help answering this question would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Brian

You can see why I am confused...Tamar doesn't seem to know specifically when or where she was born based on the census data. Either that or she is intentionally trying to hide it for some reason. I have looked in all the places the census data indicates, with no record of Tamar baptized anywhere close by.
