I was pleased to read the entry posted by LOTTABOTTLE as it has answered a lot of my missing links in the early Brain family. ChrisW's finding of the parents of James Brain was a big help as this has cleared up one mystery. There were actually two James Brains born to Giles and Ann. The first one being James born 1783.

I have not found so far a burial for the other duplicate child, Giles 1772.
ChrisW mentions another child Nancy born to a Giles and Nancy. Could this be a possible second marriage for Giles or is this another person altogether? Regards Jean Herbert
