BROWN, George, May, Barbara and Wendy (General)

by Brady, Tuesday, March 18, 2008, 11:07 (6102 days ago)

Looking for information on members of my family. George was a railwayman. I believe Barbara married a Harold N Davies in 1964 somewhere in the Forest of Dean and My aunt May (Mary Helen) died there in 1992. I am not sure where Wendy went and I need confirmation of these few facts in order to send for the correct records. Also any information about current whereabouts of my cousins would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I had already found those records; I'm trying to double check that I have the right Browns before sending for the BMD certificates. Searching my Cook side of the family has been very costly since I live in Canada now. My parents, aunts and uncles are all dead and neither of my Cook cousins has seen Wendy since 1953 when George became Stationmaster at Haughley, Suffolk. The Haughley enquiries led nowhere in spite of some help from a resident I connected with on-line so I assume that George must have commuted each day from somewhere else. I would dearly like to find Wendy and/or Barbara as we are now well into our senior years.

I tried a search on the F o D Parish Records but had no luck which puzzles me.

I appreciate your reply,
Peggy

I haven't looked up the reference for this but it may be useful for elimination purposes.

There was a marriage between Harold H Davies (Reddings Ruardean) and Barbara A Brown (Broadwell) on 21st March 1964 at St John's Coleford, (I was the bridesmaid) but the rest of the info does'nt quite fit. Barb's mum was known as Marge and she was a widow by then. As far as I am aware her dad had been a collier and "zhip badger".
