James & Anne Jones (new thread) (General)

by ChrisW @, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 12:46 (6101 days ago)

Children were:

John bap 06/05/1787
William bap 15/01/1792
Thomas bap 25/03/1796
all baptised at Hewelsfield.

So probably looking for a pre 1787 marriage?

Your James Jones & Anne Banister 26/12/1786 Newland looks good for a 'rush job'!

Chris

by slot, Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 21:50 (6101 days ago) @ ChrisW

Hi Chris,

Thanx for the info, John and William will be my gggf (Thomas's) brothers but Jane bap12/10/1800 seems to have dif parents.
If their parents were James and Anne Banister, like you said John would have been born 5 months after the wedding? i can't seem to locate another James & Anne on parish records. any more ideas?

thanxs again

Thomas Leonard Jones and Fanny Yates child

I couldn't post a reply to your question regarding the Baptism of Thomas Leonard Jones and Fanny Yates child as the thread has been locked, so I've posted it here.

The trancription of the Parish Records is ongoing, it may well be that those Records have not yet been transcribed. Also 'newer' Records are not always shown for privacy reasons.

When you click on to Parish Records, you can click on to 'Up to date list of transcribed Records' to see what has been transcribed so far.

Sometimes the transcribers will look for a Record for you, but as you have a 10 year 'window', don't really know the correct name, and don't know where the child was baptised this could prove a little difficult.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help this time.

Bertha,
Thanx for trying, i think i may have a contact in Hewelsfield where i can start asking some more questions, it's funny, when you discover a relative you want to go on and find another, i will be seeing my mum over the weekend to show her all the info that people have kindly found, she will be amazed.

Why is the thread locked, have i done something when looking?

thanx again

No you haven't broken it! Threads automatically lock after 20 postings, so you have to start a new one.

I had a pleasant suprise this morning, I received an email from Leonard John Jones all the way from Australia, he emergrated out there with his parents - Leonard and Fanny who are the people i asked for research on.

It was great to hear from him and now i can pass info onto him as well.

I am still trying to make sense of my research of the Jones family.
i have James b.1749
wife Anne b.1756 nee Banister, but not sure?
married 1786 (Newland)

if this is so then i have children
John b.1787
William b.1792
Thomas John b.1796 (my gggf)
and maybe
Sarah b.1783
Mary b?
James b.?

Can you help me find the real James and his family, father of Thomas John my gggf.

much appreciated

Hi FOD,

Firstly i would like to say thanx to Chris, Slowhands and all at FOD site for all the help researching my identity within the Jones family.
I have found, from my mothers family up through 4 generations to my 4xgf who is James Jones b.1796. I have found a contact still living in Hewelsfield who i have writen to and other viewers of the site who i'm in contact with, thanks to the FOD site, i have even spoken by email to my cousin in Australia.
What a journey, but where do i go from here to find out more? can I go further?

In appreciation,

Griff.

I hope that you can, however the "walls" get difficult the further back you go :-(

You may get lucky and find a cousin who has broken through this barrier, or you may find some new records that help bridge beyond.

I have Davies/is and Williams that have become harder and harder to resolve with confidence.

Good luck !
