Emanuel Bennett, Littledean 1828-1853, then vanishes (General)
Emanuel Bennett (born Littledean 5 Nov 1828, baptised Littledean 8 Nov 1828 and 23 Nov 1828 at Flaxley; son of Emanuel Bennett and Sarah Grindell) married at St John's Gloucester, 2 Nov 1851, Hester Ann Morgan (baptised at Littledean 1832, daughter of George Morgan [nailer and lodging house keeper of Littledean] and Esther Uzzell [of Brookthorpe]).
Emanuel and Hester had two children: Eliza Morgan Bennett 1851-1910 [my great-grandmother]and George, born March 1853, who lived only 3 days. George was buried on the same day as his maternal gradmother Esther Morgan (nee Uzzell) and a week before his own mother Hester Ann Bennett, who succumbed to TB.
The daughter was adopted by the Brain/Westbrook family of Littledean.
After 1853 there is no trace of Emanuel Bennett, when he would only have been 25. Does anyone have details please? Have checked BDM records etc and found no clues. Perhaps he emigrated leaving his daughter in England.
