I have a Thomas Harris, baptised 22 Nov 1795. Parents George and Pheobe Harris. I have a possible marriage for him to Charlotte Jones on 16 May 1837 in Chapel Lea.
I found a "possible" for this couple on 1841 census Civil Parish St Aldgate Gloucestershire. HO107 piece 3 379 book 1 etc.
Thomas Harris age 40 born abt 1801 Gloucestershire(cannot make out his occupation but looks like Army)
Charlotte Harris age 36 born abt 1805 Gloucestershire
Mary Ann Harris age 4 born abt 1837 (the year of the marriage of the couple I am searching for)
Can anyone confirm that I am on the right track. Regards Jean Herbert

Thomas Harris b1795, son of George and Phoebe Sansom, would have been over 40 if he married Charlotte Jones. He was a 5c5r of mine, and I've not managed to establish which of several possibles he married, but Charlotte seems a bit "old". Could be wrong, though - often am!

And I love Ancestry's transcription of the address on 1841 census:

Thank you both. Will let him alone for now and work on his other siblings, might have more luck with them. Regards Jean Herbert

This is one of my wife`s family. Thomas Harris was born about 1805/6 in Ruardean, there are two possibilities: 25 Dec 1805 Thomas son of William & Betty Hardwick and 10 August 1806 Thomas son of Thomas & Mary Symonds. To date I have been unable to prove which Thomas is ours. Then we have Thomas Harris married Jane Rosser 24 Dec 1831 at English Bicknor, they had two children Anna baptised 16 Nov 1834 & Eliza baptised 20 Nov 1834 both ar Ruardean, then Jane is buried 11 Aug 1836 at Ruardean. Thomas remarries on 16 May 1837 at The Lea and has a number more children by this second marriage.

From the Censuses I have:

NEWPORT 1871

Watch House Parade

THOMAS HARRIS LODG 64 ENGINEER DEAN FOREST
CHARLOTTE HARRIS LODG 64 MONMOUTHSHIRE

LLANGUNIDER, BRECON 1881

Llechryd

THOMAS HARRIS HEAD 74 ENGINE DRIVER & FITTER RUARDEAN, GLOS
CHARLOTT HARRIS WIFE 74 TREDEGAR, MON

And finally Thomas Harris died 15 January 1884 at Rhymney, Brecon.

My wife is descended from Eliza who married John Symonds 2 September 1855 at Ruardean. This may give a clue as to which is the correct Thomas as his mother was a Symonds, but this may be clutching at straws!!!
