John WHITE family Tidenham (General)

by kathy fletcher, Thursday, April 17, 2008, 08:53 (6073 days ago)

I am researching the John White family and have lost them after 1871 census.

John White baptised 21/2/1841 Tidenham, parents James and Ellen (Elenor?).
married Sarah Fletcher 3/6/1865 also Tidenham
children Eliza baptised 22/9/1867 Tidenham, Ada baptised 22/8/1869 Tidenham
John's death may have occured 4th Q 1870 (Death Index Gloucesterhire Vol. 6a, pg 205).

My last finding of the family is 1871 census, living as boarders in the home of Carmalla Fletcher, Bream's. (Sarah actually sister-in-law of Carmalla). Can find no trace of anyone past this date.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Kathy

There are times when you are searching you get the sense that the family has moved away.

There is no obvious trace of Sarah or the children in later census' so 1/ the children die and Sarah remarries ( in in order ) or 2/ the emigrate or 3/ they change surname and fail to record their Tidenham/Woolaston roots.....

1871
Carmella Fletcher 26
Alfred Fletcher 4
Ernest Fletcher 1
Sarah White 26 Woolaston,
Ada White 1 Tidenham
Eliza White 3

Yes, she is my Sarah. She is the sister of my great grandfather, John Fletcher.
That is what started my search for her and her family. Appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Kathy
