George ROBERTS son of Moses & Margaret (General)

by braillemaker, Tuesday, April 29, 2008, 00:21 (6061 days ago)

Margaret BARNARD (1783) one of the children of Jonathan BARNARD & Mary CLOUDLEY married Moses ROBERTS in 1803
Moses & Margaret had at least two children Charlotte and George.

Charlotte ROBERTS (1804) married Thomas BARNARD (1797) who was the son of Margaret's brother Jonathan BARNARD (1770) & Nancy GOODE.

Does anyone have any info on Charlotte's brother George ROBERTS?
The only reference I have to his existence is in the will of Richard BARNARD (1774). Richard, brother to Margaret and Jonathan, married Hannah GIBBS (1780) and owned property at Plump Hill and Mitcheldean. In his will, dated 1840, he left a cottage to 'my nephew George ROBERTS son of my sister Margaret ROBERTS'

George ROBERTS 1802 Plump Hill ?

Thanks Slowhands but I'm assuming that the George who married Hannah Thomas was the son of Lidia. What about the one who married (Hannah's sister?) Susannah in 1825? Do we know who he was?

"Richard, brother to Margaret & Thomas"

Sorry, but I'm confused! Reading your post I thought that Margaret was Aunt to Thomas, not sister. Is there another Thomas? Or am I being dense?

Regards
Chris

That's ok! I'm now going to get my revenge by chucking another one into the pot:
At least it was at Mitcheldean, where Uncle Richard had his property portfolio!
