Reuben Malson 1859 (General)

by carolbrownmoore, Monday, May 12, 2008, 10:15 (6048 days ago)

I am seeking information about my ancestor's family, Reuben Malson [1859]. His father was George [1808] and mother Elizabeth, although she was George's second wife. George's first wife, Mary Ann is a bit of a mystery as she died in 1850. Any help with information about George or his father William would be wonderful. I think William's father was Richard but I can't get anything beyond this.

Many thanks,

Carol Ducker

Reuben Malson 1859

by pamclark @, Saturday, May 17, 2008, 21:36 (6043 days ago) @ carolbrownmoore

George Malson 1808 my Gt.Gt.Grandfather seems to have married twice but there are three children on 1861 census who would have been born between 1st wife Mary Ann's death in 1850 and his marriage to second wife Elizabeth in 1860 (Charles, Alfred and Reuben) are these George's children or Elizabeth's from her previous marriage to John Bannister (there are two daughters from the Bannister marriage Mary Ann and Maria)

You are geting as confused as me they were all Malsons on the 1861 census but George's first wife Mary Ann (Nee Budding) died 1850 and he married Elizabeth(formerly Bannister nee Jones) 1860 so would seem likely that they were Bannisters not Malsons but they seem to have used the Malson and Bannister name late in life? Would be great to sort this out!

Both Mary Ann and Maria Malson on the 1861 census were Bannisters

Hi Chris,

I have them all as MALSONS, but I suspect that MY Reuben was born before the marriage of George and Elizabeth in 1860.

I need to see my therapist!

Will someone please tell me what happened to John Bannister and when?
I have found two burials for 1850 and 1854 - was he one of them? Or did he do a runner?

Hi Chris
Don't think that this is the marriage for John and Elizabeth. Think Elizabeth's name was Jones and she was the daughter of Thomas Jones and Caroline Stephens.

But the death is a possibility.
