Horseman/Housemay Bridge? (General)
by kerriaylesbury, Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 20:22 (6033 days ago)
Hi,
I have a will for Joseph Malson 1723 that I am attempting (!) to decipher. Jopseph is of a location that looks like Horseman or Housemay Bridge and I was wondering if anyone with local knowledge can help me narrow down where this could be as I've searched the forum and web and can't find mention of either of my attempts at translation.
Regards
Kerri

Thanks very much for the quick reply Slowhands - I see your name so often, I wonder if you ever sleep :-)
On that note (seeing your name and not on your sleep activities), I noticed one of the threads that you replied to included a list of churches. Saint Nicholas was in Trelleck (would that be Trellech on the Monmouthshire border?). Also, I have a marriage which took place at 'Saint Mary de Lode', would you happen to know where that is?
Sorry for bombarding you - I promise that's all the questions I have!
Thanks again for the info,
Kerri

Thanks for the link to the map and the co-ordinates - I had been looking there as I found the 'old maps' link in one of your other answers (obviously wasn't very clever in my search!). Fits very nicely, thank you.
Thanks also for the Gloucester City Church link too - I notice that there is a Saint Nicholas also in Gloucester City... stopped me in my tracks and has given me another avenue ;-)
Best wishes
Kerri
