William Brain born 1741 (General)

Hi

There was a William Brain born 21 July 1741 in Little Dean. I am trying to establish if this William moved to Duns Tew in Oxford, I can find no trace of a marriage or death of this William in Little Dean and am hoping this is the William Brain who is the ancestor of the Brain miners in Duns Tew.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck on this for some time. Happy to share all Brain details in Duns Tew if this is the correct one.

Thanks
Helen

I know of a William BRAIN / BRAYNE born 21 July 1751 in Littledean, probably descended from William BRAYNE 1653 Littledean.

This William heads the tree for the Collafield "Brain's"....

Thanks for that, unfortunately it does not look like this William Brain is mine after all. I do believe my William Brain was born somewhere in Forest of Dean area. Your William Brain's, birth is listed as 1741 and 1751 on LDS and if what you say is correct then he never left and moved to Oxford.

In your research have you come across any Brains that have moved to Oxford?

Many thanks for your response

Helen
