Grantley DUFTY c1855 A Painful Death (General)

I'm sure I've read something about this death. Was it something to do with a colliery or ironworks celebration that went horribly wrong?

Just found the one I was thinking of. That was 16 yr old Edwin Goold who was killed in 1836 by a cannon exploding. The occasion was the laying of the foundation stone for two new blast furnaces, with the associated celebrations.
