THOMAS graves - Coleford Cemetery (General)

by rachelhulks, Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 22:19 (6004 days ago)

I am looking for someone who might be kind enough to photograph 2 graves at Coleford Cemetery for me and email them to me.
I am in Australia so this is the only way I could think of to get a photo!!
The detail are:

Benjamin Thomas - South Div: Adults Grave. Grave Number C19.
Ann Thomas - South Div: Adults Grave. Grave Number C31

I am presuming that all the members of this family would be buried together.

Thanks

I am going to Coleford cemetery and will try and look for the grave and take a photo if I can find it.
Can you give me a rough date of burials.

THOMAS graves - Coleford Cemetery

Managed at long last to get to the cemetery with my daughter. we looked at every grave in the old part and am sorry to say we could not find any grave with the name Thomas on.
Lots of the stones have vanished and some that are still standing we could not read as the weather has taken there toil on them over the years.
Do you know if they had a grave stone?
I often go to the cemetery as I do not live that far away from it searching, so if you need any more info please get in touch.
Sorry not to give you better news.

Hi Chloe,
I'm so sorry if it has taken up your time too much. I had a reply (finally) from the council who have said all they know is that the graves are in Section C. Apparently the paperwork has been lost a long long time ago, and they can't even confirm if there are headstones. They are going to email me the graves which surround Benjamin & Ann's, which should help locate it.
I will let you know as soon as I find out.
And thank you so much again for all your help - it is much appreciated.

PITMAN and HOWELL buried in the same graves

Here are two additional names for you which are taken from the details that we have. I would assume they are relatives as they are buried in the same graves of the people you have mentioned.

PITMAN Grace Coleford C31 Coleford

HOWELL Mary Coalway Lane End C19 Coleford

Hi David,

I don't think there is any connection to my family. Would it be normal for there to be multiple burials there?

Thanks
Rach

Do you have a Grace or Mary THOMAS

by admin ⌂, Forest of Dean, Saturday, July 12, 2008, 22:45 (5987 days ago) @ rachelhulks

It is common to have more than one person buried in the same grave. If you mean is it normal to have unrelated people buried in the same grave, that I don't know but all the instances I have come across of more than one person being buried in the same grave have been related people.

Do you have a Grace or Mary that was born a THOMAS in your family tree that you do not know who they were married to?
