Esther FLUCK of Aston Ingham, married John Green 1818 (General)

by maggiec, Thursday, July 03, 2008, 02:47 (5997 days ago)

Esther FLUCK and her husband John GREEN were my grandmother's great grandparents. I have found their marriage in 1818 at St Mary de Lode in Gloucester and i know that her husband John who was born in Huntley about 1790, died at May Hill in 1839. They had 8 children, most of whom were born in May Hill.
While I have been able to find out something about their eldest son, John, and his son John, I know little or nothing about Esther, though I believe she married again after the death of her husband.
Any information would be appreciated.

Dear slowhands

Thank you for going to so much trouble finding out about Esther Fluck for me.I would think that her father probably was James Fluck who married Mary Byard at Newent in 1776 rather than the alternative ie George Randel. I suppose this shows the possible dangers of relying too much on the IGI without looking further. also I think she was more likely to be the Hester Randle late of May Hill who was buried at Aston Ingham rather than at Nailbridge, don't you? Thank goodness for the FoD parish transcriptions.

Thanks once again

Margaret

.. with hindsight you can see "the confusion"

RANDLE was here second married name...

Dear Pete

Thank you very much for sending me all that information about John Green and his family. I hadn't realised that 2 of his children had died at such an early age.
It was interesting too to see that you have found the marriage of Mary Ann Green, one of John and Esther's children. I'll have to do some more digging myself!
