The PYRKE family of Abenhall and Littledean (General)

I have been studying this family for the past twenty years or so, and have a fairly comprehensive continuous pedigree running roughly 1520-2008.

Related Forest-area names include Apperley, Ayleway, Colchester, Cuff, Gwilym, Hart, Hopton, Sleeman, Walter, Wodecocke, Yate.

Anyone coming across this name is very welcome to get in touch.

Hi Mart

I think I've come across entries of yours on ancestry.co.uk. My PYRKE interest is in the descendents of Henry PYRKE and Elizabeth APPERLEY of Stroud, but the fact that they had a son called Lazarus leads me to suspect there is probably an earlier connection with the Abenhall/Littledean/Mitcheldean Pyrkes - just can't prove it as yet!
