by Ian Jackson, Sunday, July 13, 2008, 15:31 (5986 days ago)
I am endeavouring to trace Rosannah Apperly or Apperley. (b. 1850? d, 1918)
She married Tom Jackson (b.1848 d 1923) in about 1870.
They had 3 children while living in Cinderford/Respage.
Anne b 1871
Tom b. 1872
Elizabeth (Bessie) b. 1876
Rosannah and Tom came to NZ 1878 and had 4 more children.
Frederick b. 1881
Emily b. 1883
Herbert b 1885
Reginald b.1889 (my grandfather)
By the way, marvellous response from my earlier email- many thanks indeed

I imagine you know Apperley is a place name? A village not far from the forest. Fred

Hi FredB:
Thanks for that; I must have been close by last June 2007 travelling by car from Bath to Ross-on-Wye. Haven't had any further replies re the Apperley family as yet, but as they say patience is a virtue, not that I have met Patience!!
Her father was James Apperley who married Elizabeth ? and had two other daughters: Anne in 1845 and Mary 1843.
Do you know if there are any Apperleys living in the area?
regards
Ian
