Lucy Trigg Edward Young (General)
by J Edward, Sunday, July 13, 2008, 15:57 (5986 days ago)
To all those interested in the children of Absolom and Sarah Trigg and relatives.
I have two photos that I am sending to the photo gallery. I am wanting help with identifying who they are. Are they Lucy Trigg and Edward Young or are they some other Aunt Lucy and Uncle Ted (Edward). The first picture shows three women. I have been told the lady in black is Aunt Lucy. The baby is my grandmother Mary (Trigg) I can only assume the lady nursing the baby is my grandmother's mother. I don't know her name as yet.
The second photo is of a handsome young man who I have been told is Uncle Ted Aunt Lucy's young husband. I have tried to date the photo's by the clothing so I am thinking 1890's. I hope some one can help me verify these photo's.
Cheers jedward !

To Julie Edward
Greatly interested in the picture;my father was Bejamin Trigg, son of Absolom and Mary Trigg Nee Rudge) of Wigpool. 'Aunt@ Lucy lived close by but I knew her husband as Uncle Andrew. Could Lucy have been my grandfather's sister? I do have a Trigg family tree going back to Benjamin, born 17788 whose son Absolom (b 20.8.1827) married a Sarah Marfell (b 17.9.1831).
Would love to know if you are a relative of Auntie Kit(was really Mary, I believe) born 19.10.1895.
Am not good at navigating the Web; please forgive me if I mess up now and then.

Hi jbtaylor
I would be really interested to here from you. My main interest is the Marfell family and they do intertwine with a number of Forest of Dean families including the Triggs.
You say you have a Family Tree going back to Benjamin Trigg who was born 1787, whose son Absalom married Sarah Marfell, did you know Benjamin's mother was Mary Marfell. His parents were Benjamin Trigg 1761 and Priscilla Welsh 1759. Benjamin Trigg 1761 parents were Richard Trigg 1733 & Mary.
I do not however have any details regarding your fathers marriage. As your father would have been my 3rd cousin twice removed, we are of course related.
If you click on the envelope icon next to my name, you can send an email and I can forward more information to you.

To julie Edward. My father Stanley Charles Bryant (8) & his brother Archibald(7) Francis were "boarders with a Lucy & Edward Young at the time of 1911 census, The Youngs had a son Albert Allen then I think 6.They went there after their father,my grandfather Walter Charles Bryant died prematurely. & their mother disappeared. They came originally from Bristol, Their sister Norah Grace went to Mueller's Orphanage until 1916. Do you think the Edward Young of your photos and his wife Lucy (nee Trigg) are the people I describe? At the time of the 1911 census they lived ina 4 roomed in Wigpool, Edward was 42 & Lucy was 41. He was born in Lea Bailey & worked as a coalminer - a worker ? therefore not a free minerpresumably...My father married my mother Ivy Eunice Tanner in 1928 & they had 4 children. He was a commercial artist but sadly died a car crash in 1937. I do not know anything about him between 1911 when he went to live in Wigpooland 1928 when he met my mother, . nor do I have any photos.Do you or anyone else have any information about whether the Youngs were relatives of my father. My telephone number is 01598 753620

by JENNY ROBINSON, Sunday, September 12, 2010, 18:36 (5195 days ago) @ slowhands
Thank you so much for your rapid answer. I hope you find what you are looking for. Esp interesting was the fact that the schoolmaster at Drybrook was a Bryant. Also was the other master you mentioned Edwin Young a rel;ative of Edward. If so and George Herbert proves to be a relative of ours then that explains the connection. We have different details on the 1911 census for where the Edwards & Stanley & Archibald were living. ie Wigpool not Westbury pon Severn. Any explanation? I think your suggestion of school, andor Chapel is good. Will go to Gloucester records. If by any amazing chance you come upon photos of Albert Allen Young or my relatives do let me know. What is the position about using your photos. PS You may well wonder why we have no photos of my father. Well it is because sadly my parents separated in 1935 just before my younger sister was born & it seems all the p[hotos except one on the beach in 1933/ were destroyed which again is very sad. Thank you for the other info re Bryants. Will try & get bith certificates of George Herbert & a marriage certificate of Cecil G. Thank you again. I wish my husband & I understood computers as you do. Just registering for Forest Family forum was a major task!![/b]

thankyou again for further info. I think we must be related to the schoolmaster george herbert bryant. we are going up to gloucester archives tomorrow to see what we can find in the drybrook school record which may have something about your relative? aAlbert Allen. Also to look at the marriage certificate if any of the headmasters son Cecil George Stanley Bryant born same time as Albert Allen 19oo. You have given us a real break JENNY ROBINSON
Lucy TRIGG 1871 & Edward YOUNG 1869 - BRYANT connection
by JENNY ROBINSON, Saturday, September 18, 2010, 20:50 (5189 days ago) @ slowhands
thankyou so much.! I do not think either of these Walters is directly related as
1) my grandfather Walter Bryant(dob1833) who lived at 8 Redfield pl in 1881 & 1891 and died in 1900his father was i think Willia names
I do not know his brothers & sister,s names or dob
2) my great aunts & uncles were
Mary Hannah (1861), William(1868)Charles1870Arthur Henry1875, Thomas William 1863 died 1874 & ? Jane Bryant (later Alden which probably does not help
HOWEVER
If I could trace my great grandfather's brothers I might find one of them was related to either George Bryant schoolmaster at Drybrook (1873) or Gwyneth Bryant(born 1900) who married the son of James George Bryant from ?RiscalWhat do you think?

thank you so much slowhands and all who are helping me find relatives of my father stanley charles bryant (dob jan 8 1901 who lived in wigpool as a child1(1)
I am still looking for my gt gt grandfather the son of william bryant born about 1833 died 9/9/1900 an engine fitter who lived inst gerorge 1881 redfield place and also if possible my gt gt grandfathers brothers(2)(3)
Also you found that a William bryant born 1833 ??? my gt grandfather was a boarder at trevithin (1851 census. who else was in that house in 1851. Could it have been a Thomas bryant born7/10/1832 or a George bryant born 1928 who lived in trevithin & were originally from Kingswood hill. Possibly they were brothers & ?? relatives of this william Bryant who could ?? be my gt gt grandfather & could ? explain mon. connection (3)
also re Gwyneth Bryant 1900 was her gt gt grandfather a James Bryant who married a Hannah in Bitton 1830 and who were his brothers
again i am MOST MOST grateful.
